Mommy without Clint - The Next Season of My Life

I thank those of you who shared Clint's "final journey" with us. I hope you found inspiration and encouragement as we shared the good and bad moments over the last months until Clint found his way home to Jesus on December 3, 2004. As we journey through the next season of our lives, perhaps something I share here will help others who are also making this painful journey. Angel: We had those kind of birds in a humongous flock a few days ago...It is kind of eerie, isn't it?! As always, viewing the pics on your journal and reading of Clint is very enjoyable. Of course, I come here to learn of how you're doing, also... Bless you, Carol!

Alaine: oh...and as for Clint's age. You really did have him for 31 years if you count your pregnancy :)

Alaine: I don't think you need to let go. Moving on with life is much more important than letting go and I think you are doing just fine. I still cry for my best friend that I lost 15 years ago. It wouldn't be human to "let go". And you know you will see Clint again. And I think in Heaven Clint is not feeling time as we do so he isn't sad at all. You have the rest of Eternity to be with your baby boy. ((((carol))))

jan: Carol, you don't have to let go. You are still going through the grieving process. I lost my sister two years ago and can still sit down and bawl because I still miss her so much . It doesn't hurt as bad now, but like you the memories of things she did, mannerisms and her favorite things still bring the heavy feeling of loss to my heart. With time we will experience less pain and more joy in the memories.

Angel: continued... doctrine says otherwise. She was the "child"of our hearts and we take comfort in knowing that we will see her again one day. I'll be back again soon...I love reading your entries and seeing the pics of Clint!

Angel: Your entry of 8/21 answered some questions for me, too, Carol. I am a born-again Christian, though I have strayed off the course a few times. I don't always agree with what some doctrines (churches) teach, not even my own, but I feel that whatever causes us to be more hopeful is okay. (Within the Christian perspective, of course.) For instance, when we lost our beloved furchild, our pastor told us that animals do not go to Heaven. We are comforted in thinking she is there, even though our church

Not Fun

     Interestingly, my nose settled down before bedtime and I didn’t have to take the antihistamine. I set out to put the bias binding on the five quilted bibs from yesterday. It didn’t take long to figure out that was NOT a fun project. I’ll do the other four but I won’t do any more of them. After that I worked on perfecting my in the hoop bib. It’s getting there and I cranked out three more of them. I’m going to embroider a design on one of them and then I’ll take a picture.
     I called Ann today and discovered that, as I feared, she caught Tom’s flu and has been sick ever since she talked to Bill last week. She didn’t sound well at all. Not much news today except we’ve been watching more “Magnum” tonight. I think we have three episodes left in Season 2 and then will need to finish Season 3 before July 5. They showed the Crouching Lion Inn in one of the episodes tonight and it dawned on me that my sister and I stopped by there while I was in Hawaii. I think I may have mentioned the crouching lion rock formation up behind the inn.
     I’m off for an outing with Nadine in the morning so I best hit the sack. George and Ellie got back from their trip safe and sound. They seem to be enjoying the new puppy.
