I wound up watching two movies last night. The second one got over about 1:30 and I was up to row 64 on the second hoodie sleeve. It wasn’t my intention to watch the entire second movie, but once I got into it I couldn’t stop. So it was pushing two by time I got to sleep. I woke at 5:30 and then went back to sleep. I did half of the Yarn Crawl in my sleep. We were at Myra’s shop (not the actual one). It was on a street in town and I had a shop across the street and down a few houses. I recall seeing dolls on display. I went there and found a bunch of people inside. I didn’t know why they were there but I finally told them to lock up and turn off the lights when they left and I went back to Myra’s.
I putzed around on the computer today and also finished the second sleeve on the hoodie. I thought of knocking off the hood and trying to finish it to turn in at Knit Guild tonight but finally decided against that. I picked Barbara up at 6:15 and we arrived at Guild where we joined about ten other gals. Gladys was working on cotton dishrags; Lana had finished a Dale of Norway baby hat for her first grandbaby due in December. She has started the sweater. Her son has just returned to Iraq for his fourth tour. He is the father of the expected grandbaby.
Another gal was starting her first lace project, a scarf. Her son is on his way to Iraq. Gladys’ son has been activated from reserves and will be going to Kuwait. He is a general. After everyone showed what they were working on we went around for the charity contributions. Including the 24 hats Barbara and I shipped off for the “Afghan” baby project, there were about 65 hats this month along with some sweaters and scarves.
We left there about 8:30 and went to Wal-Mart. I wanted to pick up a tank top so I can try the Fancy Image Yarn logo Myra wants me to embroider on one. I don’t know if she wants them to sell or for the staff to wear. I bought one and will do it tomorrow to take to her on Saturday and see what she thinks. As we headed out the store a guy approached us trying to panhandle INSIDE the store. It is hard to pass people by in case they are legitimate, but I wasn’t opening my purse for him to see what was in it. He was in an odd place to be looking for a sandwich.
We crossed the Narrow’s Bridge and bemoaned the fact that we couldn’t get a Tillamook ice cream cone at McDonald’s anymore. I dropped Barbara at home saying I’ll pick her up at ten o’clock Friday morning for Day One of the Yarn Crawl. By time I got home, changed and settled down it was 9:30 and here I am an hour later winding down for the day. According to the car thermometer it was 64° out when I got home. Wow! It is going to be REAL toasty for our two day outing!
