Before I went to bed last night, I checked the area for spiders. Wanda and I talk about the possibility that I got bit by a spider which brought on my infection. I also talked to my sister last night and she thought the same thing. I found a spider in a web down behind the headboard. Of course I got no reply from the spider when I questioned it about biting me before I got rid of it!
Bill woke me about eight this morning as he puttered around in the bathroom. My temp was normal and the swelling around the ear was less but it still hurt to touch my head. In fact, when I took my shower, it hurt when the water hit my head! That has not lessened any today. I had left a message for Marie last night and told her I had cellulitis or maybe erysipelas. She called this morning and asked how I got syphilis on my cheek. That gave me a good chuckle.
We left about ten and even with one stop, we were early for Bill’s appointment. We stopped into the canteen and picked up a few things. I knit on the thermal afghan while Bill had the ultrasound. We stopped back into the canteen before leaving and I looked through some pictures and found one of a deer. Ellen called yesterday and among other things we talked about the fact that she hasn’t gotten a deer in three years now. I told her how I cross stitched a big deer picture and put it on the wall so Bill could see it just before he went out the door to go hunting. So I’m going to send her this deer picture as a reminder of what she is looking for.
Bill was more than ready for lunch so we went back to The Black Angus to use another one of our coupons. This was a great lunch! We shared steak soup and Caesar salad appetizers and our entrée was a petite lobster tail, prawns and steak, asparagus, a baked potato for me and rice pilaf for Bill. The strawberry-raspberry infused lemonade was yummy too. We brought enough home for another meal for each of us.
We drove out into the country to Stewart’s Meat Market. Bill wanted to get some more jerky to send Jeremy in Iraq and whatever else he got. I stayed in the car and took a nap. We sampled some of the jerky and then we went into the Wal-mart there because it is a super store and I figured I could find the Curves diet bars. I found them along with some Kellogg ones that were even less calorie. I also found a couple more knit turtleneck tops so that I now have a nice selection of colors.
We drove back to Tacoma and went to the cemetery. We edged around Clint’s marker and tidied that up although I need to see if there is something that will clean the marker and the concrete it is set in. I placed the silk poinsettias and greens in his vase.
It came time for another pill so I had Bill stop at Dairy Queen where I got a Blizzard. I figured I’ve sooo blown my diet over the last three days that ice cream wasn’t going to make much difference, and I needed to eat with my pill. He dropped off some buffalo meat to his friend Dick and we finally got across the Narrows Bridge. Bill was hankering for a raspberry pie from Fred Meyer so we got that. He also wanted to go into Big 5 and look for some fly fishing line. I went to The Goodwill next door and found a nice red wool/cashmere jacket. I dropped if off at the dry cleaners next door to get it spruced up.
We finally arrived home and had the car unloaded by 8:30 or so. I called Deanna to make sure she didn’t fall off the chair yesterday since she never called back as she said she would do. I still haven’t heard anything from Nadine or Ellie so guess neither of them is home yet. I look forward to staying home tomorrow!
