A high wind watch is in effect for all of Western Washington from Thursday morning through Thursday evening according to the latest weather report. I don’t know how that will affect rehearsal tomorrow night. There are a lot of trees between home and church. And they have mentioned on TV that the fact so many leaves are still on the trees to blow off could present a problem. George is determined to set out for Eastern Washington in the morning despite that is when the big winds are expected to come through the passes. Ellie is not a happy camper since they’ll be going through there in the motor home.
This has really been a do nothing day. I told Wanda today that this situation with Bill leaves me feeling like I’m in the Twilight Zone. Bill doesn’t want to accept that this has anything to do with his problems from last year but that is most likely the case. I guess the ultrasound next week will give us a better idea of what’s going on. At least he is doing a lot better than he was a few days ago but, in truth, this is a lot of déjà vu for me! I was looking for something in the garage today and saw Clint’s orange handled scissors lying on the table with some of Bill’s tools. I picked them up and held them for a moment as memories of Clint cutting away with them flooded my being.
I finally got my ducks in a row and headed off to Key Center for the mail, library, etc. The sun was shining when I left home but it had disappeared and raindrops were falling as I came out of the library. Bill asked me before I left home if I was going to a grocery store but never told me what he wanted. Before I left the parking lot I called home to check. He said it was pouring down at home and naturally it was coming down in the direction I was headed to go visit Silvia.
She was thrilled with the quince even though they weren’t great this year. I also gave her the bird of paradise towel. She is another one who collects the things but won’t use them because she doesn’t want them to get dirty! I told her she better use them so I can make more! She sent me home with some old Arthur Rubenstein 45 records, some apple fruit leather which tastes yummy, and some of her German Stollen which I look forward to tasty before the night is over. I don’t know how many points to figure it for soooo….
I’m going to watch “Love Comes Softly” the first in the Janet Oke series by that name. I watched #2 already so I want to get in sequence which means I need to send # 4 back until I can get #3. Oh well… And I’m ready for some Stollen!
What would He find, should He come just now:
A faded leaf, or a fruitless bough;
A servant sleeping, an idle plow?
What would He find, should He come just now? —Anon.
