It seems like it ought to be midnight but it has just turned nine o’clock as I write this. The spaghetti I ate for dinner didn’t seem to stick with me so I’m munching on popcorn. I can eat a bunch of the light stuff for only one point. I remember fixing popcorn back when Clint was still with us and, as much as he loved food, popcorn was something he cared much about.
It took me a minute to find the button to turn off the alarm this morning. I got to the bathroom and realized that the reason I couldn’t see was that my glasses were still on the table by the radio. Hoping this wasn’t a sign of how the day would go, I retrieved the glasses and headed for the kitchen. I had to make sure I took my allergy pill. I didn’t want to wind up like I did at Nadine’s on Friday when I couldn’t turn off the spigot in my head!
I showered and dressed then had a slice of toast with the Laughing Cow cheese. I’m not really hungry that early in the morning, but I know I’ll be hungry before I get to eat lunch. In fact, I indulged in a slice of pound cake at the coffee hour between church services. I didn’t think that would be too bad but when I checked later, I found it was between 3-6 points depending on several variables.
Things went fine at church. Sonya was there so I gave her the wall hanging and she was thrilled with it. Pastor Paul is preaching from Ecclesiastes 3 at the moment and covered one of my favorite verses: He has made everything beautiful in His time. (v.11) After church I found Kim and gave her the burp pads, then I checked in with Ellie. We talked yesterday and planned that I would come over for lunch. It’s been ages since I saw George and Ellie last. The bacon was frying when I arrived and the BLT tasted great. We cleaned up after lunch and as the rain poured outside, I knit on a hat and Ellie crocheted on a baby blanket.
I hit the road for home around two when the rain let up. Bill was watching a movie when I got home so after checking the email, I watched the last episode of “Rosemary & Thyme.” I got three in before I went to bed last night. I went on the library website to order Series Two and there are 7 holds ahead of me for Volume I and holds for all subsequent volumes. Looks like it is quite popular!
Bill gave me a movie called “Sunshine State” that he watched while I was gone so I started that when I had my dinner in front of me. It was reasonably entertaining. Now I’m off to knit and watch “Love’s Enduring Promise,” the sequel to Janette Oke’s “Love Comes Softly.”
