After sewing until 11’ish last night, I woke this morning from a dream where I was sewing! Wouldn’t it be nice if I had found that the quilt was finished!! It was raining when I left for church. Everything went well at church and then I headed to Joann Fabrics to get my Ott light bulb. Thank goodness for the 40% coupon as those suckers are $29.99 and the coupon saved me $12.00.
I went to China Sun buffet and picked up some things. By then the peach I ate at seven this morning had long since run out and I was starving. I got a plastic fork from them and when I got to the car, I sampled some of the goodies in the box. I made a quick stop at the grocery store and then headed for home. When I got home I ate a tad more and knit on a hat this afternoon.
By three I was so sleepy I could hardly stand myself but I knit through it. Wanda came online in the midst of that and by time we finished chatting I had revived enough to endure. I went back to church tonight for the concert. I really enjoyed it. The pianist was Chris Rogers. He dedicated one of his pieces tonight to his cousin Gabriel Glenn Deroo, the first local Stryker Brigade soldier to be killed in Iraq in August, 2006. Gabriel had said if someone in his unit was to die, he wanted to be first since he knew he was saved and would go home to be with the Lord. He knew that many of his comrades had not made their peace with God and were not ready to die.
Kristi Abram is a vocalist and harpist. I can remember when I thought I wanted to learn to play the harp. Obviously that never came to pass. Neither did my wish to learn to play the accordion. I majored in piano, organ and voice in college. I also played clarinet, bassoon, and tenor drum in band in high school. Kristi told how she sang her first solo when she was five years old – “Jesus Loves Me” – and then she sang it. Of course, that was the one song Clint “knew” in his way of “knowing” so I was ready to sob.
When I got home, I had a snack and then talked with Nadine, Deanna and Ellie so I’m all caught up on the news from those fronts. I talked to my sister last night. She had gotten the package with the towel and mini magnet quilt but hadn’t gotten the Sears gift card. Of course, Friday was a holiday there and she didn’t check her mail so hopefully it is waiting in her mailbox. I still have to finish the bear cross stitch thing once Trudy’s quilt is done.
It is almost 10:30 and I’m yawning away. Guess I won’t make it through a movie tonight. It seems a long time since the alarm went off at 6:30 this morning!
God is an excellent planner. His plans for us are designed for our good.
He has held the blueprint for our lives from the moment of our conception.
