The “Miss Potter” movie was quite good last night. I don’t really know anything about Beatrix Potter so it was interesting to see her story. I finally got to bed and slept till about 8:30 this morning. Despite that I was a little on the dragged out side today.
After the “trash walk” I worked on our “homework” for next Sunday’s Bible study in I John, filled orders and then set to work on the Serenity Prayer quilt. I refigured the size from a twin bed size of 72 x 90” to about 52 x 63” – something more like lap quilt size or to toss over back of sofa. When that was done and I recalculated the fabric I needed to buy, I told Bill I needed to go to Joann Fabrics in Port Orchard. He wanted to ride along so we left about three.
I walked over to the shopping carts and I could NOT get them apart. I tried three different bunches. Finally someone came out of the store and gave me her cart. Bill went into the Dollar Tree next door and next thing I knew there he was in the fabric store. I’m here to tell you that you do NOT want your husband helping you shop in the fabric store.
The concept of “matching” colors is not one he can wrap his brain around! And he told me about all the great deals over on the other tables. Never mind they weren’t fabrics I could use in the quilt. I finally sent him off to Big 5 to get him out of my hair. He was back before I knew it. The one good thing to come out of his being there is that when it came time to pay the bill for this quilt stuff for his mother, I let him pay for it. So all was not lost…
We headed out the other end of Port Orchard on our way to Tony’s where we would have gone yesterday had we not changed our minds about eating out. As we drove by Tweeten’s Lighthouse where we walked out of the Easter buffet, I noted that it is now Gino’s Steak Seafood and Pasta. We stopped and checked out the menu. It is a pricey place but looks like they have some interesting menu items. We went on to Tony’s where we had lasagna.
Then we took the back road home through Belfair. Bill went into Safeway. I stayed in the car and people watched. And that parking lot is a real people watching place! I noticed that before when we stopped in there. We still had enough daylight to talk a walk on the pier in Allyn. Bubba’s was closed so no blackberry milkshake. That little town must roll up the sidewalks about eight o’clock!
We got home just after nine. Ann had called to chat. Connie called about a sweater. It is going on ten now and I’m out of movies to watch. Guess I can check Netflix for a downloadable one. I’m almost done with Deanna’s knit hat. She called today and we chatted for awhile. She says they are going to start a Crazy Quilt “do” on Fridays in September. That sounds like fun.
I’m off to have some ice cream then see what the evening brings. Actually I could probably go to bed and sleep now. But I’d wake in the middle of the night and that wouldn’t be too cool.
Savior, let me walk beside Thee,
Let me feel my hand in Thine;
Let me know the joy of walking
In Thy strength and not in mine. —Sidebotham
