I got up at seven this morning so I could get done with "business" and get back to the factory and get to work. As I got a spa wrap ready to embroider I realized that the pieces of Velcro down the front were missing. I only knew they were supposed to be there because on the other one I have there is a closure nine inches below the fastening across the front and another one five inches below that. Now I will have to make some Velcro closures. They used Velcro that matches the fabric but I don't happen to have any turquoise Velcro! Apart from that, the embroidery went off without a hitch once I finally decided what I wanted to do. Again, you'll have to wait to see a picture of this one.
Once I was done with that project I got one of the hand towels I bought the other day and started the seashell design. It took 69 minutes of stitching not counting time to change the threads, etc. I finished it and put it aside so I could start the bath towel. As that stitched away I went back and removed the stabilizer from the hand towel and folded it only to discover that the design was way too high. I don't know what I was thinking (obviously I wasn’t thinking!). I told Bill he could put it in with his donations to Tacoma Rescue Mission but he suggested putting a name on it. A brilliant idea! I'll put the family name and they won't know it wasn't supposed to be that way.
6:40p.m. rolled around and I was in the midst of all this. I took a break and went out into the kitchen where I found Bill fixing dinner. He took the eggplant parmigiana and ravioli out of the freezer. We brought that home from our last trip to Tony's Restaurant. I continued with the embroidery while dinner heated up and just about time it was ready, the phone rang. It was Deanna. I told her my sad tales for today and we discussed the fact that they are calling for snow Friday. That is the day the girls are supposed to have lunch at the tea room. We can only wait and see what the weather does.
When I hung up from talking to her I reheated my plate of food and ate. That done, I resumed embroidering and finished the bath towel at eight o’clock. Now I can rest from my day of embroidery by knitting on a wavy scarf I started this morning. It involves short row wedges so I have to think about what I’m doing and keep track in order to know where I’m at in the pattern. I don’t know if I’ll get it done in time for Christmas or not with everything else I have on my list but we’ll see.
Time Is
Too Slow for those who Wait,
Too Swift for those who Fear,
Too Long for those who Grieve,
Too Short for those who Rejoice,
But for those who Love,
Time is Eternity - Henry Van Dyke
