I was up and going by 7:30 again this morning. I wanted to make the most of the day. This month’s Ellie “do” will be lunch at The Victorian Rose Tea Room in Port Orchard – the one owned by author Debbie Macomber. Some of us exchange gifts with others and some don’t. I stitched out this towel for Mary. She spent last week at Disneyland courtesy of a long time girlfriend.

When I finished that project I stitched out a design with an idea in mind for Deanna’s present. However, the outline on that was off. It was off the first time I used it several years ago so apparently it is not a well done design since I’ve now done it on two different machines with the same results. Then I cogitated on Plan 2 and finally stitched out a cute “Maxine” design with which I’ll make a mini wall hanging if all goes well.
Wanda and I chatted off and on during the day. Peg was gone today with her daughter Sarah to audition for some elite modeling job. I hope “no news is good news” she hasn’t appeared tonight with any information. Somewhere along the line I ran out of steam. I wanted to do something but didn’t know what I wanted to do and was too tired to do it anyway!
Before I gave up, however, I stitched out another lace angel. Susie’s birthday is December 20th so I’ll stick it in her card.
When that was done I gave it up for the “work” for the day and came out to the living room. I picked up the bright pink baby afghan and knit along on it. When Bill started rattling around in the kitchen I told him I’d make something with the lamb stew meat he brought home the other day. With no particular recipe in mind, I cut up some onions and as I did that, Bill asked if I was going to make gravy. And when I said I would, he wanted to know what it would go over besides the meat. I had taken out some potato dumplings that are individually wrapped. You boil them in the wrapper and then remove the wrapper when they are done. He asked about wild rice so I was started to put the dumplings away but he said to cook both. Even then I came close to putting the dumplings back in the box. Thank goodness I didn’t because the rice bombed. We got a few spoonfuls each and the rest was crispy and stuck to the pan. A little balsamic vinegar in the brown gravy turned the lamb dish into something quite tasty so all wasn’t lost.
By time I had done all this I had gotten my second wind. The pink afghan seems to be almost square – or will be time I do the border. I was going to knit until this skein of yarn ran out by I’m tired of the afghan now and want to move on to other things. I never got to the movie last night and I’ve decided life is too short to watch the same one twice even if it has different actors. Bill has a couple of Sherlock Holmes movies so I’m going to watch one of them.
Have faith. God has great plans for you!
