I was working on the computer about 9:15 this morning when I saw a hummingbird at the feeder. We haven’t seen one in months so Bill hurried out and got the feeder and I replaced the old juice. I hope it will come back. I wonder if it came by yesterday on “Clint’s day.” We can pretend it did….
Bill left for all his errands of today in Tacoma and I finished Nancy’s angels. I had a hard time deciding what to work on next. I considered what had to be mailed and by when. Then there is the 18th deadline for having Dawn and Reign’s stuff done since we go up there on the 19th. I also have a birthday and two baby gifts but the baby gifts will have to wait. I wanted to embroider a name on a spa wrap and couldn’t find the alphabet I wanted.
In the midst of all this muddle Nadine arrived at one as scheduled and we sorted through the thread order. Then we had tea and chatted for awhile. She left at two and I got back to cogitating on the next project. I finally decided to do a couple tea towels for Christmas presents and I got them done by five.
Bill was still gone but he called and assured me he would be home in time for me to get to rehearsal. I got some dinner and dinked around until time to get ready to go. Bill arrived at 6:20 and I was off and running – ok, driving – by 6:30. My back was killing me and I took some ibuprofen before I left home. That eventually kicked in and I got through rehearsal. When I got home I had Bill pop my back so I hope it will feel better tomorrow.
Then Bill changed channels on the TV in time to hear Josh Groban singing “You Raise Me Up.” I haven’t heard it in awhile. That was the song we played at Clint’s service when they were closing the casket. It is interesting that we heard it on the day after his anniversary. So the hummingbird and the song were special moments today.
The other thing we heard on the news is that a second elementary school in Monroe where Dawn and Reign live has had a chicken pox outbreak. Yippeee doo…. Neither one is her school but I suppose it is only a matter of time and I don’t know if she’s had chicken pox or not. That was the only childhood disease Clint ever got and he had a very mild case of it, thank goodness.
