I watched “Beverly Hills Chihuahua” last night. That was a hoot. I got to bed around 12:30 and slept until 6:30. In my dream this morning I was in extreme pain and when I woke up and went to move, my lower back screamed. I couldn’t lay there any longer so I got up and slathered the offending area with Sombra.
I talked to Debi this morning. Her road is still a mess so she hasn’t been anywhere although her husband has managed to get to work. She said she might get him to drive her to her rehearsal tonight. I told her I wouldn’t be able to get there. Then I got ahold of Larry at work and asked if he was going to be doing music I could do with no rehearsal if I can get there for the Christmas Eve service. He said I would be fine. As of this moment, Pastor Paul plans to go ahead with the Christmas Eve service. We’ll see what tomorrow brings since more snow is expected tonight and/or tomorrow morning.
I picked up the phone about ten to call my prayer sister Liz. The phone rang as I was dialing and it was Cousin Bruce. He was on the road – somewhere in Alabama – headed for home. We chatted for a bit and caught up on the news as we haven’t talked in awhile. Then I called Liz. They were able to get to church on Sunday but there was only a handfull of people. Even Pastor Paul couldn’t get there so Pastor Dale, who lives right there on the grounds, did the service. Larry got there and played the guitar for them to sing some Christmas carols.
I didn’t hear anything from Barbara yesterday by phone or email so I called to check on her. The county inspector showed up yesterday for her final house inspection but the contractor wasn’t there and they discovered he was in the hospital. While I was talking with her some folks came in to drop off a dog so she’s getting some tracks at her house, too.
Inbetween whatever else I’ve been doing today, I’ve been knitting along on the hooded baby sweater. I finished the yoke and moved onto the body. Ellen called about 2:30. She opened her box yesterday on her birthday. Actually, she opened the Christmas box – not that it matters. Anyway, she loved the afghan. Her computer at work has been broken since last Friday so she had not seen the snow pictures until today when she borrowed someone else’s computer and checked her email.
Chris, the neighbor at the beginning of our road, came at three and drove up and down the driveway several times with his big truck. We still don’t know if we can get out if we get more snow as predicted tonight and/or tomorrow morning. Not long after day an SUV pulled up in the yard. It was Ted and Joyce bringing cookies and Nadine’s Christmas present so I had a few after dinner. I talked to Nadine and she is busy knitting a Jayne Hat for her g’son Jared. And she is doing it in the colors shown in the picture as that was his choice. Doesn’t yank my chain….
With that I’m off to see if I can find a Christmas movie to watch since Christmas is quickly about to be gone for another year. I must say it doesn’t seem much like Christmas but then it doesn’t anyway without Clint and a fresh tree and all that stuff.
