I guess it is a good thing I wasn’t going to Knit Club today since I didn’t crawl out of bed until nine this morning. As soon as I was done with email stuff I got right to work on my jacket. It didn’t take too long to get the top stitching on the lapel done. By then it was noon so I grabbed a quick turkey sandwich and then worked on creasing the lapel. You will notice that I did not put pockets on my jacket. I hurriedly tried it on and discovered that it cupped right under Big Butt in the back! Also, it wouldn’t hang straight down in the front. Ten inches less elastic than the actual size of Big Butt is NOT a pretty sight. So I spent the next little while removing the row of stitching down the middle of the elastic, then the stitching from the top of the casing. I added enough elastic in the center back to give it the weight to hang straight (that is why Judy said we were doing it) but that was it. I have the link to the Jacket Photos below. Oh yes, Nadine did her lapel wrong and planned to throw her jacket in the trash. I think I talked her into donating it somewhere rather than throwing it away.
I pulled out a star baby quilt that Deanna gave me and begin sewing around some stars to quilt it. I had barely gotten started when I had to stop and eat dinner so I could head off to play Annie Oakley again. That went well tonight. I was telling some of the instructors about our burglary experience after we finished. I mentioned the phone call we got the other day that showed up “Inmate Phone” on Caller ID. He said it could have been solicitation, since some places use inmates for that purpose or it could have been who knows what. When I got home, I told Bill what the guy said and told him he should call the sheriff’s deputy back with this piece of information “in case.”
So that is about the extent of my excitement for the day.
As we turn our eyes to the Lord in times of pain and struggle, we will experience His comfort and hope in our daily lives. He will help us to see everything clearly again. – Bill Crowder
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face;
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace. —Lemmel
