When I got up this morning my plans were to see the doctor at 11:20, do the usual errands and come home and at least finish my pumpkin basket. Guess again! Bill decided to go with me, although he didn't go into the doc's office this time. The doc said I am much better but it isn't completely cleared up yet. He said that he didn't tell me the other day that this is usually treated in the hospital. I told him I figured that out after what I read on the internet! He says I apparently got in fast enough to keep it from getting bad before I knew what hit me. Thank God for that! Since I'm going out of town next week, he gave me a prescription for a different antibiotic and said to fill it and take it if there was any signs of it when I finish the current round. He said we have to get this knocked out! Yippeee dooo... Jeff told me tonight he had this once and he had the worst head pain he's ever experienced in his life. Thank God again I escaped that!!!
When I was done with the doctor, Bill suggested I call the cleaners and see if my jacket was ready so we could pick it up today since we were already out and about. I called and apparently he had as much trouble understanding me as I did him. He said they would look and call me back in about ten minutes. We waited a bit and finally went into the grocery store. We were back in the car before the phone rang and I had to spell my name again to a lady – several times! She called back as we drove home and said they couldn’t find my order. I gave them the number on the ticket – again! She hung up. A few minutes later she called back and said the jacket was ready!
We dropped the groceries off at the house, I took my antibiotic and we headed for Gig Harbor. We picked up the jacket, stopped by the bank and then went for lunch. We won’t even talk about my diet after DAYS of eating out this week! I had a tasty beef soup and a black bean quesadilla while Bill enjoyed a Reuben sandwich. By time we eventually made it home, it was after four o’clock. I was tired so I took it easy since I had to leave at 6:15 for rehearsal. I spent the time working on a new baby blanket I hope to take as a project for the knitting retreat. I wanted to make sure I can do it and that I’m going to like it. I’m skeptical after the thermal blanket fiasco!
Rehearsal sounded a lot like chaos tonight but we finally pulled it together in the final run through. Thank goodness for the pre-church rehearsal on Sunday morning! Before we started, Larry, the former team leader, talked about the upcoming Christian Musician Summit Nov 9-11. He read off the names of those who were going and I was shocked when he called out my name. I’ve heard Debi talking about it but had no idea it was something I was supposed to be involved in. Turns out the church sends the music team but no one had mentioned it to me. Bill will be thrilled to hear this after my being gone to the knitting retreat the week before. It looks like I can room with three other gals on Friday night and then come home Saturday night after the concert, or whenever I can catch a ride with someone headed this way.
It’s getting close to bedtime finally and it has been another long day. I sincerely hope I’m home for tomorrow as I’m tired of going. Nadine did check in this afternoon so everyone is home from their travels for now.
