Episode 2 of Hamish Macbeth came to a close last night and it was 8:15, twelve hours since the “episode” of yesterday morning. I had eaten so much 0 point stuff that I still had 12 of 22 points available to I used up 7 of them on a piece of strawberry swirl cheesecake Bill brought home Friday. Bill was watching some old war movie with Jean Harlow so I dove into Episode 3 of Hamish Macbeth since it was too early to think about bed. I moved right on into Episode 4 at 9:30 figuring that would put me to bedtime when it finished. That was when I realized there were two disks and six episodes. OK….
I got to bed at a decent hour and finally decided I’ve already read “Sanctuary.” I didn’t really want to crawl out of my warm cocoon when the alarm went off at six but I needed to make sure I wasn’t feeling dizzy or lightheaded since I had to drive. My blood pressure was good this morning although the pulse was 105 again. Hmmm….. I’m still running a real low grade fever and when I went into the bathroom at church where there is a good light, I pushed my hair behind my ears. However, my right ear was a nice bright red so I covered that sucker back up! We got through the early rehearsal and the music went well despite no rehearsal on Thursday night. I had one time during second service where I felt a tad lightheaded while playing. I told God it would NOT be cool if I passed out and fell off the piano bench in the middle of church! Apparently He agreed because that passed and I made it home safe and sound.
I checked email, etc., while Bill got ready so we could head off for the afternoon. Despite my “symptoms,” I don’t feel particularly bad. I put the sweater I was changing into in the dryer to warm it up. It is ever so much nicer to pull on a nice toasty sweater than a cold one! The turtleneck heat felt good on my sore neck, too!
We headed out the door on towards 2 o’clock. I got into the car and reached for my knitting only to find it wasn’t there. I went back into the house, turned off the alarm, found the knitting, reset the alarm and was trying to lock the door when the phone rang. I dashed back and turned off the alarm again. Chatted with Robin a few minutes and told her I would call her when we got home. Reset the alarm and actually got out the door and down the driveway.
Wal-mart was the first stop. I tried to stay away from the fabric department but wound up there buying fabric for a cute whale quilt. Then we went down the road where Bill went to Big 5 and I went to Joann Fabrics. They didn’t have the particular orange fabric I wanted. I didn’t even think to look for it at Wal-mart. Duh….. I also got a piece of fabric to back a quilt panel Vi gave me a while ago. I met up with Bill at Big 5 and then we went over to the Dollar Store where we found a few odds and ends to add to our growing stash.
We finally made it to Gino’s for dinner around four. My 6:30 breakfast had long since run out so when they set some bread fresh from the oven in front of us, I slathered a piece with butter and dug in. Bill had a Caesar salad with the same Veal Caricciosa he had the last time. I had salmon bisque and Portabello - Crab, Smoked Salmon, Bay Shrimp, Clams and Spinach in a Vodka Cream Sauce over Linguine Pasta.
After eating the bread and soup, I could only eat half of my dinner, but I couldn’t resist a piece of cannoli since I haven’t had one for ages. This was quite different from the ones I had in the past, but it was tasty. Of course, I’m not used to eating that much food at one sitting so I waddled out of there stuffed to the gills!
Bill wanted to go back into Wal-mart so I tagged along for the exercise and found a lightweight aluminum camping table which will be perfect for the knitting retreat. That reminded me to ask Barbara is I’m supposed to bring my camp chair. I have to make me a list and get organized here! Our last stop was Target. I couldn’t find a red sweatshirt for Reign in today’s travels, but we found some little things to send Ronaldo and Jhon for Christmas.
I spent the day being hot, then cold, then hot, then cold. Sheesh! Everything still hurts to the touch. We’ll see how I feel in the morning and if I need to call the doctor. Can’t mess around here with the retreat coming up. I told Bill this afternoon that when I saw my red ear it reminded me of the times Clint had ear infections and had a red ear. I told him I can’t even have sore ear without thinking about Clint!
It was going on eight o’clock by time we arrived home and unloaded the car. I called Robin back and chatted for a bit. She loved her Autumn Dangler and has it on the door of her apartment.
Tomorrow is another day.
