I watched “Love’s Long Journey” last night and when Missy’s baby was born, it brought tears to my eyes as I recalled the day Clint was born. Then “Love’s Abiding Joy” was also boo hoo because Missy’s second baby died suddenly. When I finally crawled into bed, I made a start on Nora Robert’s “Sanctuary.” We’ll see if that holds my interest.
I set the alarm for six in the morning before getting out of bed so I wouldn’t forget. I was in the kitchen putting the coffee on when I got blindsided by a hot flash that had me tossing off my two outer shirts and standing there in my tank top. Then I started feeling like I was going to pass out, so I grabbed the thermometer and blood pressure cuff and sat down. My temp was 99.9 and I usually barely hit 97. The BP was 94/63 with a 104 pulse. I checked again about ten minutes later and temp was 100.2 and BP 87/59 with a 109 pulse! I noticed that the right side of my head and neck hurt when touched – the ear was sore, I could feel a knot in my neck. It was weird – and sounded like what Bill was having last week that took us out to Urgent Care. All of this eventually subsided, except for slight pains to the touch. If this is some sort of flu, it is a very STRANGE flu!
I told Bill about it when he got up at ten and he agreed that he had similar symptoms only he was obviously a lot worse off than I was. He went for the mail run and when he got back, he cooked some bacon. I made a BST sandwich – Bacon, Spinach and Tomato! Yum….
Two o’clock rolled around and I hadn’t accomplished much of anything. I did practice the music for tomorrow while Bill was gone, and I found sheet music for a new song we are doing where Jeff gave me only words and chords and no clue as to the melody….again! As I set the music folder by the front door, I spied the pit bulls in the yard…..again! By 3:30 I concluded I wasn’t in the mood to sew or embroider so I put on a movie to watch while I finished the latest hat. I decided on the Hamish Macbeth Series Two. They are based on the books by M. C. Beaton which I’ve read several of over the years.
Somewhere in the midst of all this I got an email from the gal in charge of the Ft Worden Knitting Retreat. She had a cancellation so I’m getting a room for all four nights in with the other ladies after all. Yeah!!! And I’ll be near Barbara and Julianne. Now I’m a happy camper! See me do my Happy Dance!
I’ve had dinner and barring another episode like this morning, I don’t anticipate any more excitement for the evening, although I saw two dogs run down the driveway again. It was just dark enough I couldn’t tell if it was the pit bulls again or the next door neighbor’s dogs. My ear is still sore but nothing like this morning, and the spots on my neck and back of my head are still tender. I have NO idea what this is all about. I finished hat # 30 and started #31 and here is a picture of the mock cable scarf. It looks orange in the picture, but it is red.
I’ll get back to Hamish and see what he is up to in the next episode. Since I have to get up at six in the morning, I hope I can get myself to bed earlier tonight. Of course, every time I say that I wind up later than ever! I changed this little prayer from the movie last night to fit for Clint.
For all the time that we had him, we thank you.
For all the days we will miss him,
we ask that your love helps ease the ache in our hearts.”
God’s timing is always perfect.
