When I don’t get up until nine the day seems to get away from me but I got some stuff done today despite that. My Christmas list is shaping up and I have a pretty good idea of what I need to get done. Getting it done in 74 days (or less for things that have to be shipped) is something else again! That said, I obviously need to work first on things that need to be shipped.
I finished tacking down the binding on the star baby quilt and stitched out a label for it which needs to be sewed on. Then I stitched out something called an Autumn Dangler. I made it for Robin to hang on her door in the retirement center. I’ll get a picture of it tomorrow along with the star quilt.
Bill went out to our secret spot this afternoon and came home with about five pounds of chanterelle mushrooms. This is one of the best crops we’ve ever seen! And he left a bunch more there to get another time if no one else stumbles across them. I wasn’t surprised since we have a yard full of various kinds of mushrooms and we’ve never had that before. I fixed some for dinner tonight. Yummy!
When he got home from that expedition, we went out and picked the quince for Silvia as they were bright yellow already. They aren’t the greatest this year. The tree is in desperate need of pruning so Bill says he’ll do that and hope for a better crop next year.
No other excitement here so I’ll go watch a movie. I still have five waiting to be watched. Feast or famine! Oh yes, I have some new hats in the Photo Album (see link below).
