It was only 40° when I got up at 6:30 this morning, but 74° by time I headed home from church. Since I can’t eat for half an hour after I take my Levoxyl, I took that and then headed for the shower. I’m not one to dawdle in the shower, but I did this morning. After that I ate some yogurt and a piece of toast. I got to church at eight and, as usual, was one of the first of the Praise Team to arrive. I couldn’t quite get in gear with a couple of the songs today but hopefully no one but me took notice of that fact. I talked to Larry after the first service. He is our former Praise Team leader. It soon became apparent he didn’t care for my “style” of music on the keyboard. But he doesn’t like Christmas songs either so that says all I need to know about him and I won’t pay his opinion any never mind. Tonight, however, I talked to a couple of my friends and discovered that both of them could hardly hear the keyboard music this morning. If I’m going to play my little heart out up there, it would be nice to know someone is hearing it!
When I turned into our road on the way home, I stopped off to introduce myself to the folks in the first house on the road – Chris and Marie. I had an interesting conversation with them about the situation. When I told my story, Chris immediately thought of a neighbor kid he has had dealings with. When I told Bill what Chris said, he told me that another neighbor, Mike, said the same thing. It seems that one neighbor had her speakers stolen out of her car by this kid and a friend of his. So perhaps these are our culprits. It does seem odd that some “passerby” wheeled into our road and drove all the way to the end to burglarize our house. We decided to put out a couple of “reward” signs for Bill’s briefcase with the pictures. We’ll see if anything comes of that.
I spent the afternoon cogitating on a baby sweater for Bill to give his doctor when he sees her on September 24th and I still don’t know for sure what I want to do. Tomorrow is another day as far as that project is concerned.
I saw some of these on Kaye Wood’s website so I found the original source and picked out some that suited me.
I've learned...I've learned that even though sometimes it does not seem like it, God knows what he is doing. The trick is to trust in him and be ever so patient.I've learned that if you want to cheer yourself up, you should try cheering someone else up.I've learned that making a living is not the same thing as making a life.I've learned that we must do all that is possible and let God do the impossible.I've learned that you are strongest at your weakest point. When you hit rock bottom, you'll find out what that means.I’ve learned that there is absolutely nothing as precious as the love of a child, nothing is sweeter than a slobbery child's kiss, and no sight is better than a child's open arms waiting for a hug!I've learned that trusting Jesus Christ to be your Savior is the smartest thing you can ever do.From “I’ve learned”
