This was a sewing day. I finished tying the quilt and then cut strips for binding out of the leftover backing. However, I had to serge around the quilt and take out some length and width to have enough binding. So it went from a 38 x 43 inch quilt to a 36 x 40 inch quilt. When I finished the binding I embroidered a label and I’ll sew that on tonight.
I then finished the pink fleece hat I started the other day. I wasn’t thrilled with it when it was done but hopefully it will fit a baby okay. I think the fleece was too thick for a double layer hat like that. I made a plain one out of some thinner fleece I have here but I didn’t really like it any better. Maybe I’m just tired at the end of the day.

By time I went to bed last night (or rather this morning!), I had found quilt blocks in 81 of the Mall Crawl shops. In addition, I started working on AniLee's Mystery Quilt Treasure Hunt since I kept seeing it on so many of the Mall Crawl sites. When I quit last night, I had found 40 out of 50 clues and had collected six parts of the mystery quilt.
Bill went around the neighborhood today and talked to some of the new folks. Seems most all of them have had some vandalism on their property, but we seem to be the only ones who had someone come into the house. A couple of them have chased off folks trespassing on their property in the middle of the night. Bill is trying to put together a community meeting to get some kind of block watch going, as much as you can do something like that out here.
Time to sign off, get some dinner and sew on the quilt label. I’ll be playing for church tomorrow so I have the alarm set for 6:30.
