I was sitting here watching a movie last night and I began to notice flashes of light in the distance. Bill asked me if I heard thunder, which I didn’t, but I figured the flashes must be lightening although they didn’t look close at all. Bill went to bed and I continued with the movie. A little before eleven I suddenly found myself sitting in the dark. Well, not quite because I had the light from the computer screen. I went over to the desk, got a flashlight and set about turning off both computers. In the midst of this, the flashlight fell apart in my hand and I couldn’t get it back together. I stumbled around in the dark trying to find another lantern where I knew there should be one but I couldn’t lay my hands on it. I heard Bill telling me I should turn off the computers. I told him I was trying but didn’t have a light that worked. He brought one out from the bedroom and I got everything turned off. I put batteries in my reading light so I could use that when I crawled into bed.
I read for awhile and the power was still out when I went to sleep. I work sometime later and the clock was blink 3:42. I thought to look at my little battery operated travel light and found it was actually an hour or more later than what the clock radio said. I went back to sleep and Bill came in this morning to tell me it was actually almost nine o’clock.
I’ve had my nose to the computer all day long and at one point when I thought I might go in and do some embroidery Bill told me he was going to lie down. I don’t know that the noise would bother him through the wall, but it wasn’t long before I had more computer stuff to deal with and so it has gone all day.
I fixed up some veggies with sautéed shrimp and crab for dinner tonight. After that, I still had 10.5 points left that I can use tonight so I see some ice cream in my near future! I also need to cogitate on what I’ll take to work on at Nadine’s tomorrow. So I’m off to savor some Tillamook Wild Mountain Blackberry Ice Cream!
