I watched the first two episodes from Series One of “Rosemary & Thyme” last night. It is about “Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme, two women who battled back from personal setbacks to make a fresh start in life by starting their own gardening business. However mystery is never far away and Rosemary & Laura’s inquisitive nature never let them rest until they have found the solution.” I just happened upon it in the library yesterday. I guess there are at least three series and they are enjoyable British dramas.

My “work” today has been stitching out more of the burp pads. This shows five more of them. I have another three done that I’ll take pictures of tomorrow.
I fixed dinner tonight. Yes, I actually cooked something for us to eat instead of us fending for ourselves. Of course, when you see what Bill usually wants, you can see why I’m not eating that while dieting! But he bought a couple of shish kebobs the other day so I cooked them tonight. After I took my portion out of the pan, Bill added some oyster sauce to his portion. It was pretty tasty, although the steak was bordering on the tough side. I don’t suppose they use prime beef in shish kebob!
I was off to church for Praise Team rehearsal just after 6:30 tonight. Unfortunately I’m having to deal with some issues that are less than thrilling for me. Jeff had one song which, as has happened before, is a piece of paper with words and a few chords on it. The singers didn’t know the song, so they were waiting for the piano to play the melody. Well, the piano didn’t have the melody to play! When he informed me that his daughter Amy would be there on Sunday and could play the song, I bristled. She is one of these people who only has to hear the music and can play it. OK, that is great, but it isn’t the gift God gave me. I’m thinking I could play the music just fine IF I had the music! I could play the chords, but the singers wanted to hear the melody. I didn’t know the melody so I couldn’t play it. Then we had another song where the guitars weren’t keeping up with the piano or were ahead of it. Who knows? So Jeff suggested that just the guitars play. At this point I’m ready to get up and walk out. He tells me the piano is the dominant instrument but if the guitars don’t “get it,” the piano apparently gets kicked out. He finally “appeased” me by saying I should move over and play the keyboard while his daughter played the piano for the last two numbers. I was so upset by time I left I forgot to call Bill and let him know I was headed home so that upset him. Go figure!
I’m ending the day with some watermelon jello. Tomorrow I need to work on my jacket so I’m ready for the next class.
And now, brothers, as I close this letter let me say this one more thing: Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely, and dwell on the fine, good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about. Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and saw me doing, and the God of peace will be with you. - Philippians 4:8 The Living Bible
