Hi Diane. Was finally able to get out cyberwalking again and wanted to check on you and see what you were up to ...
Hi Carol, I get a "lump in my chest" reading your thoughts that you share .. thanks for reminding us how life is a

Nadine picked me up just after 10:30 this morning and we headed for Silverdale to meet Judy and Verna for lunch. We got there about 11:15. When they hadn’t turned up by 11:30 we went inside and ordered since I wasn’t positively sure they were coming. I ordered off the Weight Watcher menu again. Judy and Verna turned up about 11:45. They had stopped somewhere to pick up a quilting magazine which had a picture of Judy and her daughter (or was it g’daughter) on a sewing cruise from last June.
We were done with lunch by 12:30 and drove down the street to Quality Sewing. We got set up for class and since we were early, I tackled the problem of my upside down sleeve. I solved that problem without too much difficulty. We sewed the blocks on the sleeves and the strips down the sides of the blocks. I was going great guns! And then I showed her my back piece with the lining serged onto it. The next words out of her mouth were right up there with the dreaded blue screen on your computer as it crashes! “Your neckline is over on the shoulders.” YIKES!!! I have NO idea how I managed to do that. Well, obviously I had the pattern turned the wrong way when I cut. DUH…..
So we discussed how I can correct that boo boo. Thank goodness this isn’t $25/yard fabric! I’m going to cogitate on the possibility of creating a yoke type effect with a piece of black fabric onto which embroider or appliqué some orchids. I’ll check out the orchids on the fabric and see if they lend themselves to appliqué. If not, I’ll look for orchids I can embroider on that piece and maybe use some of my new Glamour thread and some jewels. Creative minds are on overload here to solve this dilemma!
After class Nadine and I stopped off at Joann Fabrics to see if they had any more of the pink sweatshirts. They did so I got a large youth one to do a “princess” design on for Reign since Bill doesn’t think the medium I got last week is big enough. Better too big than too small.
It was 4:30 by time we arrived back at my house. That’s when I discovered I left my keys at home. Good thing Bill was there. Later on he told me that he got back home from his outing today and discovered that the alarm wasn’t on. I don’t think he held the button long enough for it to kick in. Thank goodness the burglars didn’t turn up again while he was gone!
I’m off to see what I can see about embroidered orchids. We are extending the jacket class to next Tuesday and hope to finish it then. We can have up to four hours that day, so with what we can do between now and then, hopefully we’ll get it done. That’s if I don’t make any more major screw ups!
