Last night’s movie was a nice gut wrencher called “Dying Young.” I like Julia Roberts and in this movie she hired on to nurse a young man with leukemia when he was going through chemotherapy. That was not something Clint ever went through and if what they showed with this guy is any example, I thank the good Lord it was never an issue for Clint.
I’m happy to say today brought some much needed progress in the birthday present department. I had hoped to finish the project but it was going on seven by time I finished the label and got the thing sandwiched together. I just didn’t want to take a chance of pushing myself and flubbing the dub at the end of the job. So I will give her a birthday card and finish the wall hanging next week. I also added a couple of new hat pictures to the Photo Album - # 15 and 16. I sent the link to Barbara, my partner in crime at Madrona, and the leader of the charity knitting night. She wrote back and said, “Very cute! To take the pressure off of you I have made ONE hat . Only took 3 days. I have already cast on the second.”
We won’t even talk about weigh in for today. I knew eating out the night before was not a smart thing to do and I was right. Oh well, there is always next week. Of course, I’ll be eating out all day tomorrow at the Women’s Retreat, on Monday when Bill sees his specialist, and on Tuesday before the Jacket Class. I would say this probably doesn’t bode well for weigh in next week.
Nadine called tonight to let me know she has returned from her trip safe and sound. I haven’t heard anything from Ellie so I guess they are still gone. I will probably see Nadine on Sunday so she can cut out her jacket pattern for the class on Tuesday. I still have to do my serging and get the rest of my strips cut out.
The aging process is really not very much fun. All of a sudden this afternoon I got a shooting pain in the calf of my left leg. I wasn’t doing anything to pull something so I have no idea what that is about.
I suppose I better finish getting ready for tomorrow. I have the alarm set for 6:30 and my clothes laid out. I’m supposed to be at Miracle Ranch at eight for breakfast followed by other events of the day. They have several ladies who will give some inspirational thoughts from their lives and then they will open it to everyone else. So I’m cogitating on what I would like to share about life with Clint and how God saw us through.
Difficulties are God’s errands, and when we are sent upon them, we should consider it proof of God’s confidence, as a compliment of God. – Henry Ward Beecher
