I watched a cute movie called “Splanglish” last night and started a new hat with some of the yarn Azlea gave me last Sunday. I managed to get to bed at a decent hour. Getting up at 6:30 is hard enough but I just had to wake at 5:30 this morning! I drifted in and out of sleep until time for the alarm to go off. Showered, ate a bite and was out of here at 7:30.
After we rehearsed the morning’s music, I grabbed half a cup of coffee in the kitchen. Jeff told me that Allie lowered the bench at the piano so she could play before church. When I got up there, I needed the bench put back where it was. Jeff came over, turned it upside down on the floor, fixed it and off we went. Nothing like entertaining the congregation! Allie had to play again when I was done but she suffered through the first service. For the second service she put the regular piano bench up there and used it. When I went up to play, Jeff switched the benches. When I was done I moved my bench and Allie moved in behind me with hers. Yippeee doo…
When I got home from church, we readied ourselves to go out for lunch. This was to be our first outing with both of us since the burglary. I armed the alarm and got out the door in a speedy fashion. As we drove away from the house I told Bill it made me feel sick to my stomach. He said we could go back home if I wanted to but I told him we can’t stay home forever. I had the cell phone on so we would be alerted if the alarm went off.
We went to Tony’s for Italian food. Bill loves that place! By time we got there my stomach had settled down. Bill ordered his favorite lasagna. I settled for spaghetti and meatballs. It was raining when we left home but had quit by time we came out of the restaurant. In the rush to hide my computers, etc., before leaving home, I forgot to change my shoes so I wasn’t ready for a walk on the pier today. Beside which, we would probably have been walking in the rain.
I finished the blue hat I started last night and now I’m trying to finish up a red one I’ve been working on for awhile. Guess I’ll boogie for tonight and see what I can find to occupy me till bedtime. Nadine is coming over at 7:30 to drop off my stuff she bought at Costco today. She leaves for Port Angeles tomorrow and will be gone for four days.
A person who wishes to begin a good life should be like a man who draws a circle. Let him get the center in the right place and keep it so and the circumference will be good. Let a man first learn to fix his heart on God and then his good deeds will have virtue, but if a man's heart is unsteady, even the great things he does will be of small advantage. - Johannes Eckhart
