Bill woke me when he got up this morning. A peek at the clock showed it was only 7:15 but I figured I could get an early start on the day. Something reminded me that Yahoo Photo Album will be closing in five days so I removed the rest of my photos from that location. I also remembered to turn on the alarm clock since I’ll have to get up at 6:30 again to be at church at eight.
I went to the memorial this afternoon. With the actual service and the reception afterwards, I was there over two hours. I got there early figuring there would be a pretty full house. Of course, it reminded me a lot of Clint’s service, except that the deceased wasn’t there. They showed pictures like we did for Clint, and had a time where folks shared their stories about Ben. In this case it was mostly family since not many of the attendees ever met the son. We were there because of his parents who serve as associate pastor and wife at our church. I sat with Sonya and her husband, Norm. They had their g’daughter Kylie with them so they wanted to sit in the back in case they had to take her out. But she was fine.
I went to the store afterwards and got some things for my dieting process – brown rice cakes, Dannon Light and Fit fruit yogurts which are one point compared the 2 points for the Yoplait I’ve been eating. I also got some sugar free ice cream. I was down 7.2 pounds this morning. After I weigh in next Friday, WW will not want me to lose over 2 pounds per week. If I don’t mess up, I should hit my goal weight around the first of December.

I finished knitting this hat today. It was knit with the new “Vanna’s Choice” from Lion Brand in a color called Mountain Print. I’m on a new hat “count” now. After the 202 hats I turned into the Knitting Guild, most everything from now on will go into the collection for Charity Night at Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat next February. So I have 11 hats in that pile. We will have Diane from Caring for Kids at the event to collect all that is brought to the event. Hopefully I won’t be the only one knitting them!!! The plan this year is to give attendees a ticket for the drawing if they bring an item to the event. Unfortunately, I don’t get to participate in the drawing – I just get to knit a gazillion hats and whatever! That’s part of my job, so to speak.
So I’m off to have my ice cream and finish knitting the crown of the hat I had to reknit yesterday. I wrote the teacher of my Jacket class and told her my blocks are not coming out square. She told me not to worry – we’ll fix them in class. OK….
The Bible, O Lord, is just like a mirror
That shows me the need of my heart,
For in it I see an accurate image,
A portrait of me—every part. —Hess
