I was pooped by eleven last night and actually made an early night of it – well, early for me anyway. By seven this morning I’d had the recommended eight hours of sleep so got started with my day. After reading about Job and his suffering and the good that came as a result of it, I got to work trying to relocate my table top. I accomplished that by nine and eventually made it back to start in again on the sweaters for Bill’s specialist, Eileen. I had several starts and stops. Amazing how much you can forget when you don’t do something on a regular basis! But I finally got going and by six o’clock I had knit all the pieces for a baby blue boy sweater and the back for a pink girl sweater.
Ellie and I chatted by email today. She mentioned something about the chain saw as though I knew what she was talking about. I inquired and learned that George and John (his nephew), were cutting wood yesterday. George said something to John, John turned around with the saw going and just touched George on the arm and put a tiny cut on his arm. We won’t even think about what COULD have happened knowing George as we do!
In the continuing saga of Nancy Drew and Rambo, Bill spoke with the lady who we were told had the speakers stolen out of her car by the suspect and his buddy. She confirmed that this did, indeed, happen. It seems she knows who the second boy is and where he lives. Bill left a message for the sheriff’s deputy to contact us so we can give him the new information we have obtained. We did not hear back from him today. The lady of the speakers suggested Bill check inside the culvert at the start of the road as stolen mail had been found in there before. He checked but there was nothing in there today. We’ve had no results from the reward signs. I fear that is a lost cause but who knows.
As I looked for directions to the store for the jacket class tomorrow in case Nadine didn’t get back here as planned, the phone rang and there she was. She said they had a great trip. The weather was beautiful – almost too warm. I’m sure I’ll get all the details tomorrow.
I still have 8 points I can eat tonight, so I’m going to have some blackberry ice cream, knit on a hat, and read a book until I get sleepy. I leave you with the final thought from today’s devotional about Job.
Our highest good may come from our deepest suffering.
