That movie I watched last night was cute and I got to bed at a decent hour. Despite having the alarm set for 6:30, I woke at six and catnapped until the alarm went off. I left for church at 7:25 and got in some practice before the singers arrived. My brain and my fingers didn’t necessarily want to coordinate today but we still seemed to get rave reviews by those who cared to comment to us. Cindy told me after church that her husband does not want her to take on playing for morning services since she does so much other playing already. Don’t know where this is going to leave us. Jeff just doesn’t get it that I really do NOT want to play the piano when I am the only keyboard player on a Sunday morning. We’ll see where this goes.
Cindy said she was not going off after church this morning as planned and could play tonight so I left it to her since she will probably be gone next Sunday night and I may be called upon to play then. When I got home I walked in and shut the door. I turned around and saw that my yarn was shut in the door. I opened the door and followed the yarn down the sidewalk to the bush at the corner of the sidewalk. After I collected my yarn, Bill got ready and we headed off to El Pueblito to meet Mel and Deanna. We had a nice lunch visit with them. I tried the beef fajitas today, but it was nowhere near as good as the carne asada I’ve been getting.
Since it was such a nice day Bill and I stayed in Gig Harbor after we parted company with Mel and Deanna. We took a walk out on the pier. We saw lots of dead jelly fish in the water and numerous people who were fishing and crabbing. I thought as how I wouldn’t want to eat fish and crabs from water where other creatures were dying, but what do I know. We sat overlooking the waterfront for awhile and then walked up to a couple of new shops we hadn’t seen before and checked them out. Then we went to another restaurant and sat out on the deck on the waterfront and enjoyed the boats, birds and whatever else came along. We eventually got hungry again and ordered salad and pizza. While we were sitting there, we spotted three blue herons flying by. These things were huge. They can be 38” inches long with a 70” wingspan. One of them came back around later and landed on one post and then took off again and landed on another post. It was awesome to watch.
It was around eight when we finally headed for home. We stopped off at McDonalds for a blackberry ice cream cone. Yep, fat and sassy it will be for me! Back to the boats…..we saw all sizes of boats. Some of them tied up to the dock at the restaurant and ordered food taken down to the boat. Bill said we should get a boat. He said he would want a sailboat. Right….
It has been a long day so I think I’ll make an early night of it so I can get a fresh start on whatever projects strike my fancy tomorrow.
