I was just ready to pick up the phone and call Quality Sewing to see if my Babylock Ellegante embroidery machine was back when the phone rang and guess who? Yep! Bill was in Key Center doing the mail, library, etc., so when he got home, I told him I wanted to go get my machine.
I didn’t notice what time we left, but it probably wasn’t long after noon. We stopped by the bank to attend to some business there and then drove over to Patti’s. I had contacted her by cell phone before we left and she was in Olympia so we just dropped the towels off at her house and were on our way again. We arrived at Quality and I reclaimed my machine.
By time we finished there, my pineapple and piece of toast had run out so we went to Popeye’s where I had fried chicken, red beans and rice with a biscuit. Bill had catfish, Cole slaw and a biscuit. Everything was tasty but I was disappointed they didn’t have the fried okra. Needless to say, I wasn’t “dieting” today!!!
We stopped into Grocery Outlet and found a few things that caught our eye. Bill found a Field and Stream jacket for $16.99. As we headed home, I realized that I had not deposited a check I had in my fanny pack when we were at the bank earlier so we swung by the branch out this way and did that. Then we stopped at the fruit stand and got peaches, blueberries, tomatoes, red peppers, Bing cherries, pears, nectarines, scallions and tomatoes. Doesn’t that sound yummy AND healthy???
We stopped at Nadine’s on the way home. She called before we left to say she had a piece of Joyce’s diet key lime pie for me to try. I tasted it before putting it in the refrigerator and it was quite good. Even Bill liked it. I have since eaten the rest of it.
It was REAL toasty in the house by time we got home around 4:30 or so. We got the AC going and cooled it down. Since then I’ve done stuff on the computer and chatted with Nadine, Ellie and Deanna. Deanna told me the Crazy Quilt classes at Shibori Dragon will start September 7 so I’m looking forward to that. Nadine will be going with me to those on the first Friday of each month. Deanna and Mary plan to come, too, and we’ll all have lunch together.
