We fixed our soy sauce chicken for dinner tonight. As with pizza, I can’t eat a drumstick without thinking of Clint sitting across from me chowing down on a drumstick. My Sweetie LOVED his food.
Ellie called about ten this morning to say that George came through the surgery just fine and was back in his room. I didn’t get up until a little after nine but I’ve had a productive day – if you don’t count the fact that I ripped out about two feet of the thermal baby blanket and am redoing it on larger needles. It was only about 29 inches wide and it is supposed to be more like 36 inches wide. And then I ripped out a boucle hat that was coming out way too big. Definitely going in the wrong direction with the knitting projects. It was the first day in Heaven only knows how long that I did not knit on a hat. Wow! Switching into sewing mode, I made a couple of mini magnetic quilts. I got the kits for these when Patti, Ellie and I went to Evergreen Quilting on Wednesday. Now that I have the instructions I can make more of these if the spirit moves me.

Other than this, it has been pretty quiet around here today. It was definitely cooler today than the last few days. Bill did the errands and brought my audio book from the library. It is an Anita Shreve book called “A Wedding in December.” I’ve read several of her books and they are always just a little strange but they manage to hook me in for the duration.
We’ve had no ice cream in the house for about a week now so I’m being a good girl and eating fruit instead. Bill just cut up a pineapple this evening so I’m going to snack on that and resume knitting on the thermal blanket. Oh yes, we did spy a hummingbird at the feeder this evening. First one we’ve seen in awhile.
Be assured that, if God waits longer than you could wish, it is only to make the blessing doubly precious! God waited four thousand years, till the fullness of time, ere He sent His Son. Our times are in His hands; He will avenge His elect speedily; He will make hast for our help, and not delay one hour too long. - Andrew Murray
