I’m doing battle with the quilt now to get it finished by Thursday. I waked today faced with the question of what to do on the sections above and below the “Serenity” panel. I went back and forth between embroidery, decorative sewing stitches, and free motion. It was three o’clock before I finally started an embroidery design in the center top and bottom. Then I selected a different one for the corners. When those were done, I stitched in the ditch down the sides of the main panel. By time I finished that is was after seven.
Oh yes, I forgot to mention that before I started sewing I attempted to put in the new light bulb I got yesterday. Put it in and it didn’t work. Thinking I had it in backwards, I attempted to get it back out. That was my first battle of the day and it left my fingers scraped and bloody, thus the “battle wounds.” Two of the bloody scrapes were on the knuckles, but I have some flexible band aids that let you bend the fingers. It didn’t work when inserted the other way. I managed to get it back out without mangling any more fingers! Then I investigated the Ott Lite website and got the correct number for the bulb. Called the store and they didn’t have it and supposedly couldn’t get it. I was getting a tad annoyed at that point since I bought the light from them. I called the Tacoma store and they had one which I’ll pick up tomorrow after Sew Fun.
I guess one good thing about all this work is that I don’t do a lot of eating. I had a peach for breakfast. Then I ate some pineapple and cottage cheese for lunch. Dinner was biongu. Of course, we’ll go to lunch tomorrow after Sew Fun so that will undo any weight loss from today, if there is any.
I chatted with Suzanne from the Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat tonight about the Charity Knitting Night. She liked the idea I proposed of giving tickets for door prizes to those who bring donated items or cash for the charities of the night. Sounds like a plan to me….
I was going to put up a couple of new hat pictures but I can’t upload them. It is just THAT kind of a day.
