At the moment I’m happy that my internet provider is something other than Seanet as they are doing a 12 hour maintenance while they move something somewhere. Of course, I’m not able to send or receive email at the moment, but I guess I’ll live.
I was up and off to church this morning. By time I got up to the corner gas station this morning the road was totally engulfed in fog. But that disappeared when I hit the Key Peninsula Highway. Back at the gas station I noticed that the gas prices continue to climb – $2.23/gallon up from $2.13 yesterday or the day before. Hmmm…
Rehearsal went fine but during first service Larry started the “new” song and it took no time to realize he was playing in 9/8 time instead of 6/8. Oops! He got a few lines into the song and stopped, explained to the audience, started again and he was still off. I struggled to try to pull him into the right rhythm as did Jim, the drummer. He eventually got it. Unfortunately, the same thing happened in the second service after me telling him to just count 1…2…1…2. Oh well, I tried.
They were having a baptismal service after second service. Since my friend Susan was being baptized I stayed for the service. Her husband, who doesn’t come to our church, came for this event. I made a point of introducing myself and thanking him for coming to support Susan.
I stopped at the Burley Store to get Bill’s Sunday newspaper. I got out of the car with my one dollar bill and two quarters in hand. A gust of wind blew the dollar bill out of my hand and under the car.
I got the kid in the van next to me to grab it when I backed up. I bought the paper and hit the road for home. Once there I ate some lunch.
The afternoon has been spent doing various and assundry things. I wanted to get as much done for the Fiber Friends group so I created a poster to go on the display table on February 22nd. Then I completed a one page newsletter which Connie is reviewing. Bill got a call that nephew Jeremy was south of Portland. We got a call tonight that they have arrived and are at the hotel. He has to report at 5:45 in the morning so they were going to bed after two days on the road.
I talked to Nadine tonight as she wasn’t feeling well yesterday. Barbara picked up one of our Madrona door prizes today from the Allyn Yarn Shop. I had to leave a message on Beth’s voicemail when I made my daily call there. I’m adding to my “to do and to take” list for Madrona. One of the ladies at church today brought me a garbage bag of yarn. We’ll have a nice stash for our charity knitting with what I get from Deanna.
I guess I’ll see if I can get some more rows knit on this Philosopher’s sweater. I hope those longer cables I ordered for these interchangeable needles arrive tomorrow. Knitting 312 stitches on this 32” needle is unwieldy at best. And I’ll have to knit a few inches on 364 needles so I might even need to go up to the 47” one when I do that increase. What fun!
When Satan finds out what we love more than God, he knows how to manipulate us. But he loses his power over us when we delight in the Lord. — Julie Ackerman Link
