I stayed abed this morning and finished reading “Hitched” by Carol Higgins Clark. Once I got up it took me awhile to get things handled so that I could go over to Barbara’s for our “homework” session for Madrona. We had put it off as long as we could. I struggled into my tights, pulled on a pair of slacks, and when I was done dressing I called Beth to get an update there.
I got a clarification on why Bill went down yesterday. I was afraid he had passed out but it was caused by the slant of the driveway. Sounds like he lost his balance getting out of the car on the downhill slant and went down. It took three paramedics to get him up and they got him into the lobby. Bill told them he needed no medical help and it was only after they left that he opened his coat revealing his shirt soaked by the leakage from the opened chest wound. He did not want to go back to the hospital. And he wouldn’t let Beth call the hospital. That is sooooo a “man” thing!
I called Barbara at 11:25 to let her know I was heading for Key Center and would be along to her house shortly. I picked up the mail and stopped at the grocery store. As I came out of there I decided I better stop at the library and use the restroom. I was afraid if I waited until I got to Barbara’s house I wouldn’t be able to extract myself from the tights in a timely manner!
She showed me the yarn Coats & Clark sent for Madrona and then we locked ourselves in her bedroom and took the pictures for the “Knit to Flatter and Fit” class. I took my computer with me but forget the cable to download from the camera so we couldn’t do that part of the process. Barbara fixed some egg salad sandwiches and we had lunch while I used another photo I had on my computer to play with what we perceived to be what we had to do with the picture.
After lunch we went back to her computer and checked out some things she has been having problems with. She keeps getting an error message about being unable to open files because some dialog box is open. Of course, I tried it and it opened right up. It appeared to me that she was trying to open the files with the wrong program. We were done with things a little after two so I hit the road for home. Back home I made up a chart of some supplies we need for classes and who will bring what. I sent it to Barbara as a .doc file. She tried to open and got the same dumb “dialog box open” error message! Boo hiss…. I resent it in a .pdf file which she is able to open with no problem.
I eventually got caught up on stuff and decided to tackle the body outlines for the class. As I worked on mine the phrase “Nightmare on Elm Street” came to mind. I think this whole thing is a set up between the teacher and Weight Watchers (or some similar diet program) to make us look at our outlines in horror and immediately rush to sign up to diet!
I went on the Ravelry Knitting group last night for the first time in awhile. I had a message asking to use my Cutest Baby Sweater picture for that sweater on the site. One person has marked that sweater as one of their favorites (hearted). I added my baby sweater from Luxury Yarn One Skein Wonders and someone has hearted it too.
The Kyler cardigan is slowly getting finished now that I’ve picked it up again. I just have the hood to finish. I was looking at the directions again this morning and it said to “knit until hood measures from end of ribbing 7 inches, allowing 1 inch for shaping at top of hood. And that means what? Knit 6 inches and begin decreases? If so, why not say that.
That said, I’m off to knit after I give Beth a call.
