This has been a hectic day. It seemed to take forever to get through the orders this morning. Barbara emailed and said she tried to call and got the message "your call can not go through at this time. Please try again.” This was REALLY getting to annoying. Once I got everything under control I called the phone company. I asked about the “call busy forwarding” that I called about the other day – the one where they did not have the 1 in front of the 800 number. It seems that when they added that, it dropped off another number at the end of the string so the “busy” calls were going nowhere and generating a lot of weird messages. Of course, that wouldn’t explain the messages Dawn and Chris got when they called on Sunday while we were gone!
At any rate, it seems to be time to dump Callwave since I’m getting nothing for the money I’m paying out to them every month. She knocked off about $13 on my bill for the money they were charging the last six months for the “call busy forwarding” that was supposed to be free. Hello? So we set things up so that calls will forward to our cell phone if the land line is busy. Of course, that means we have to leave it on during the day which we usually do not. I can also hit * something and have it forward calls to the cell phone on “no answer.” I need a Centurytel phone book to tell me all this and, of course, we don’t have one!
When I finally caught up with everything this afternoon, we took off for Allyn and had salad and pizza at Lennard K’s. I stopped in at the Allyn Yarn Shop to see if she had the Madrona door prize ready but she didn’t. Then we walked out on the pier. The tide was the lowest we’ve ever seen there and you could see scads of starfish and sea anemones. It was an awesome sight!
I got out the door without the cell phone so when we got home there was a text message from Beth saying they were leaving the hospital. I had a bunch of things to do so it was after nine before I was finally able to call them at the apartment. Beth was in the middle of fixing dinner but took a few minutes to fill me in. They got to the apartment this afternoon and for some reason, Bill went down in the parking lot and they were unable to get him up. They finally had to call the paramedics. He was bleeding from one of the former chest tube incisions but they decided not to go back to the hospital. She said it was very traumatic for all of them. I guess so! I didn’t want to hold her up so I told her to call me later if she wanted to. I think getting to the apartment they are suddenly overwhelmed by it all – being on their own with a bagful of pills, etc. I told Beth last night she needs to make a chart of when and what so she can check it off every day. I know good and well that is what the nurses were doing on the computer 24 hours a day!
That was way too much excitement for everyone so I’m off to do something. I’ll figure out what when I get there! I’m trying to finish that Kyler cardigan so that is probably what I’ll be working on.
