I got up at 5:30, turned on the heat, went back to bed and fell asleep. Next thing I knew the phone was ringing at 6:45. I answered, figuring it would be some wayward customer who didn’t read my calling time information. However, it was one of Bill’s vet buddies who also gave no thought as to where he was calling and the time! I left him to chat and got up and put on the coffee.
This day has been spent doing this, that and the other. I have 6 and 1/2 inches done on the Philosopher’s sweater. Bill has been ordering a bunch of movies lately. One that arrived today was “We Were Soldiers” which he says is the best movie about Vietnam. The DVD was not secured to the spindle in the case so he needed to watch to be sure it was ok. He didn’t want to watch it unless I watched it with him. I wasn’t gung ho on doing that because I’m not into war movies. However, I bit the bullet and watched. It is a very moving film.
Bill’s sister Chris called this evening since we weren’t home yesterday when she called to wish him Happy Birthday. Leo also called today, thinking Bill didn’t get his E card yesterday. I told him it probably got caught up in the spam filter and that was the case.
I called Nancy today to see how she is doing since I wasn’t at church Sunday. She had some radiation on her shoulder last week and it seems to have made things worse instead of better but she was going for more today. She also seems to be suffering some side effects from the radiation so she isn’t feeling great. I hate to see that.
Nadine popped by today to bring Bill some things he can take to the Tacoma Rescue Mission. We had a cup of tea and caught up on the news. She said that George’s hand has been hurting him really bad so I emailed Ellie. They are seeing the doctor about it. Too much misery going around!
I guess that is a wrap from here tonight. Tomorrow is another day…..
God has not left us alone in our struggles to attain spiritual growth. He helps us want to obey Him, and then He gives us the power to do what He wants. Ask Him to help you want to do His will. — Marvin Williams
