I forgot to mention that the recycle and trash pickup never materialized yesterday. And when Bill went out he found another tree down on the private part of our road. I told him to check the recycle and trash at Chris’s on his way by and, sure enough, they were empty. So I called the disposal company and asked why we are paying for services and aren’t getting any. I told her they were on our road today and didn’t come here. She assured me they will get here sometime in the next couple of days. A flatbed truck with a couple of dumpsters came this afternoon while Bill was gone and emptied the garbage can. Now for the recycle?
We watched the season premiere of The Bachelor. This season’s bachelor is from Kirkland which is up north of us. I was one of millions of viewers who were stunned last year when DeAnna Pappas rejected Jason's proposal in the season finale of The Bachelorette. He was a big hit because of his young son Ty and now he is back as the star to see if he can find a wife from the 25 bachelorettes.
And speaking of broken hearts, my heart sure breaks for John Travolta’s family in the sudden loss of their son Jett. What a terrible thing to have happen. Needless to say the fact that he had seizures and was a “special needs” child hit close to home. I know what a huge loss it will be in their lives.

I finished the earflap hat shown here while we were watching TV. Then I picked up the Kyler baby cardigan. It is a top down cardigan and I got to four inches from the underarm edge before realizing it said to knit for a total of 4 "ridges" instead of "inches." Then I was to read the note before continuing. After 2 more rows I "should" have started the pouch (pocket). I guess this first one will be a pouchless cardigan as I am NOT going to rip out.
The “pineapple express” has finally washed away all the snow. They’re talking 48 hours non-stop rain. Oh goodie!
I sat here watching the rain and doing the homework for tomorrow’s Bible Study. Betty called Bill for a ride into Key Center to get more water. The guy who lives on their property and who is supposed to do little chores around there hasn’t gotten the pipes fixed since they froze. And they froze despite being wrapped.
Debi finally got into the doctor this day only to be told to get more rest and do more “nothing.” Her mother-in-law is due in tomorrow for a visit through the weekend. Ellie called with a knitting problem on a sweater she has started. I guess I got her straightened out on it. Yesterday Bill got a note from his old Army buddy Mike. Mike had been in touch with some of the other guys from their recon platoon from Vietnam and the guys wanted to get in contact with Bill. I emailed Mike our phone number and his old platoon sargent, Leo, called and talked for about an hour. He hardly got off the phone before Mick called and they rattled on for a long time.
I’m going to go get comfortable. I don’t know if House is on tonight or not. With the rainy weather that station probably won’t come in anyway.
