There was no sign of rain when I went to bed last night and there was a good five inches of snow on the deck rail. When I got up at 5:30 to turn on the heat there was still snow. I went back to bed while the house warmed up and when I got up at 7:30, all the snow was gone from the deck rail and it was 40° out front. According to the weatherman, snow accumulations yesterday ranged from 1 – 6 inches. Warmer weather and rain is predicted for the rest of the week so we should be safe from snow for awhile.
I debated getting on the scale again this morning. The Weight Commander program I play with sometimes says to weigh every day. Weight Watcher’s says to weigh once a week. When I was faithfully following WW, I weighed pretty much every day because I didn’t want any surprises when I got on the scale after a week of dieting. As it turned out, I was glad I got on it this morning because I was 1.4 pounds less than yesterday and that made me feel better even though I wasn’t working at dieting yesterday by any stretch of the imagination!
I glanced out the dining room window this morning and spied a coyote prowling around the yard. It eventually went off into the woods. Not long after Bill took the trash and recycle stuff down. He spotted some good sized deer tracks in the snow so he was a happy camper. Then he looked out the front door about 11:30 and saw that we had two “broke” trees (as Clint would have called them). They are both apple trees and the top broke on one and most of the other one went down. We found that interesting since we had no wind to speak of unless there was some in the night we didn’t hear.
I got an order ready to mail out today hoping Bill could get out of the snowy, slushy driveway. Then I listed some more knitting books on the for sale lists. Four items sold by dinner time. I finished the body of the newest hat and got one earflap knit before I ate. Now I have to do the I-cord tie. The pattern says “desired length” which isn’t much help. The hat fits my head so I guess I’ll just have to keep trying it on until it is long enough to tie it under my chin.
Bill was able to make it out with no problem this afternoon. I have been in front of the computer all day doing one thing or another and knitting in between. I still have a couple business things to take care of. I have yet to enter one item in the Quilter’s software. Maybe tonight. Bill complaining about the stack of books surrounding my chair figuring I’ll trip over them eventually. Who? Me! So I’m off to work on the hat and whatever else strikes my fancy.
When I Think About the Lord
Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; and shout for joy,
all you who are upright in heart. Psalm 32:11
When I think about the Lord,
How He saved me, how He raised me,
How He filled me, with the Holy Ghost.
How He healed me, to the uttermost.
When I think about the Lord,
How He picked me up and turned me around,
How He placed my feet on solid ground
Chorus
It makes me wanna shout,
Hallelujah,
Thank You, Jesus,
Lord, You're worthy, of all the glory, and all the honor,
And all the praise...
