I finished a ribbed hat and started an earflap hat while watching a movie called “Agatha Christie – A Life in Pictures.” It was quite interesting as I knew nothing about her life. I went to Wikipedia and read more about her to round out the story.
Reluctantly I pulled the scale out this morning and got on it. All those Christmas cookies, candy, etc., showed up! I said “no resolutions” but that is an area I seriously need to so something about. Sigh….. I left for church at 7:30. When I got up to the corner, I looked across the street and there in the distance was Mt. Rainier in all its splendor surrounded by the beautiful pinks of the morning sunrise. It was awesome. And did I have my camera? Of course not!
The music team got through the services today but I hadn’t played with them since December 14 so I felt a little “off” on some of the songs. Oh well…. I gave Vonnie, Karen, Wava and Wendy the lace ornaments I made for them for Christmas. Larry also got his “over the hill” pills. I have finally delivered all the Christmas stuff except for Debi’s scarf. I’ll see if she is at school when I go to Bible study this week.
After lunch I set out to do more organizing. As I found lose quilting and sewing patterns I put them in the second binder I bought. I ran across a felt ornament kit I bought after Christmas last year to make for this year. Oh well…. Long about 3:15 I glanced up and realized it was snowing. Nadine called at 3:35 and asked if I knew it was snowing. I said “yes,” so she wanted to know how long it had been snowing. I told her I had noticed it about 10-15 minutes earlier.
I cooked lobster tails for dinner tonight. We used to do this on New Year’s Eve but we were in town and ate out mid-afternoon that day so we weren’t hungry for dinner. Anyway, I decided today was the day. It was still snowing as I fixed dinner. The minute I got my plate of food fixed and sat down to eat the phone rang. It was Doris’ mother so we chatted for awhile. When we were done I ate my lobster, and once dinner was done the phone rang again and it was Debi. We talked for quite awhile as she was in need of a “shoulder.”
I looked outside at 6:50 and it was still snowing and there was a good three inches on the deck rail. The weatherman said the snow might last until nine but would then change to rain. I called Robin to check in on her. She lives in the north end of Tacoma and it was snowing there but she didn’t seem to have as much as we do. We caught up on the news. She stayed put for Christmas as she didn’t want anyone coming out to take her to and from their house in such horrid weather.
I have installed the Quilter’s Organized Expressions so I’ll see if I can organize a little more before I go to bed tonight. Oh yes, here is a picture of the baby socks I knit for Paige. They are knit with DK merino wool and a couple rows of Mustachio furry yarn.

But before that I called Barbara and had a chat. She had heard from Suzanne about Madrona doings so she filled me in on that. Then I called Suzanne and added my thoughts. It will be time for me to start calling vendors for door prizes pretty soon.
Now I’m off to see if I can “organize” some more!
The Clock of Life
The clock of life is wound but once,
And no man has the power
To tell just when the hands will stop
At late or early hour.
To lose one's wealth is sad indeed,
To lose one's health is more,
To lose one's soul is such a loss
That no man can restore.
The present only is our own,
So live, love, toil with a will,
Place no faith in "Tomorrow,"
For the Clock may then be still.
