It was after 1:30 when I headed off to bed last night – or should I say this morning. A customer called this morning as I lay there kind of half awake. I took care of her and then got up. Bill heard from another one of his vet buddies this morning. This one lives in Riverside, California, where his mother lives. Small world. They chatted for awhile and I took care of my hankering for boiled eggs by boiling up some. One of the many diets I read said that if you eat two eggs every day even without doing anything else you will lose weight. Oh that it would be so easy!
Bill went for a hair cut and other errands and I tackled the B&O taxes that are due on Monday. In July they started the “destination based sales tax” so I have to report for each tax code area for any sales made in Washington from July – December and from now on. Nothing but more aggravation. While Bill was gone I got to work on that.
Leo called while Bill was gone. We were chatting when I saw Bill coming up the driveway so I kept him on the phone till Bill got in. They talked for a long time while I continued fussing with the tax stuff. It is somewhat like balancing a checkbook because what you put in one area has to match what you put in another area. Sigh…..
Before I had a complete meltdown we took off for Tacoma and went to see the movie “New in Town.” It was cute and got my mind off the tax miseries. That was over just before five and we went to Black Angus for dinner. They sent Bill a coupon for a free steak dinner so we took advantage of that. He had a nice top sirloin steak and I suffered through prime rib and a 10 ounce lobster tail. As usual we came home with enough for another meal.
As we headed home we couldn’t believe it wasn’t even seven o’clock yet. We both felt like it ought to be time for bed. Of course we waked up some after we got home. I called Nadine. She called this morning when I was in the middle of something and then I forgot to call her back. As it turns out, I couldn’t have helped her anyway. She got the dreaded blue screen. Ted helped her fix it later.
Now I’m off to work some more on the taxes. I’d like to get it all figured out tonight so I don’t have to spend tomorrow fussing with it. We’ll see…..
Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible.
