I’m thinking I shouldn’t do two things at once when I’m doing an increase row on this new sweater. I was doing the second set of increases – from 156 to 208 stitches. I got all the way to the end and discovered it was off. When I looked back, I had made an error about 46 stitches into the row. Yep! Rippit, rippit….. Once I got that fixed and was moving along again, I searched for and found a program to do gift certificates. Most of the vendors at Madrona are doing them this year for door prizes but some of them don’t have gift certificates to print up so it becomes my job to provide them.
It was one o’clock by time I got to bed last night so I slept in till 8:45 this morning. I’ve been hard at it all day on Madrona and other stuff. I got the gift certificates printed it up. I made 85 address labels for the thank you cards. We give them to the recipients of the door prizes in hopes they will send them and thank the donor for whatever they got as a door prize.
I got a report from Beth this afternoon. Bill was still hallucinating followed by extreme shaking. He “heard” his deceased daughter’s voice and wanted someone to look out the window for her. Also, it looks like his white counts are up which means possible infection. The doctor has changed his pain medicine and it appears his electrolytes are out of whack which may account for some of the hallucinating. I told Beth to be sure she does NOT let them put him out of the hospital until these issues are resolved! His last chest tube has been removed now. Beth wrote again at 7:30 and said Bill was good at that point in time. Has been walking around. Was able to shower today but is not getting out tomorrow. I asked if she’d seen anything of the other patients and she said that the lady who got the lungs ahead of Bill is having some problems similar to the ones Bill was having with electrolytes and hallucinations, etc.
In between working on all these things today – including sorting through the Mastercard bill – I knit a few rows on the Philosopher’s sweater. I have four inches done now so I’m making progress. The only thing with a fairisle pattern like this is all the gazillion yarn tales that will have to be dealt with.
I’m going to move along and maybe watch a movie tonight while I knit.
Every time we pray, our horizon is altered, our attitude to things is altered, not sometimes but every time,
and the amazing thing is that we don't pray more. - Oswald Chambers
