It’s been a long day. I was up at 6:30 and left for church at 7:40. There were remnants of snow on the ground but I had no problems driving the roads. Larry threw me a curve by having two songs I didn’t know in the mix so I made sure we went over them. As we congregated out in the foyer during the second service sermon I told Larry we should do one more service as I had the music down pat by then. Oh yes, one of the older fellows came in today and asked me “Are you going to yodel today?” That cracked me up! Nancy was there and showed me a picture of the son she visited last week in prison. He has nine years left on a ten year sentence. The elders were meeting after church today and the proposed knitting group was on their agenda.
When I fired up the cell phone after church I had a message from Beth that Bill wasn’t doing so good. He was having nausea and was hot (fever?). Later she wrote that they put him on a nausea patch and he was doing better and was being moved out of ICU to a regular room. While all this was going on, I arrived home and ate some clam chowder while Bill showered and got ready to go for an afternoon outing. We left at 2:40 to make the 3:15 showing of “Australia” at the Blue Mouse Theater in Tacoma. We both really liked the movie despite the bad press it got from a lot of critics. I’m glad we were able to see it in the movie house instead of on the TV screen as it just wouldn’t have been as dramatic. As with the “Out of Africa” movie from years ago, it had some fantastic scenery.
The Blue Mouse is right around the corner from The Pomodoro so guess what we did after the movie? Yep, went to dinner at The Pomodoro. I had the Garlic Prawns with Linguine in a white wine cream sauce and Bill had the Fresco Pasta – prawns, scallops and whitefish in a white wine sauce. We both brought at least half or more home for another meal. I did top mine off with a bowl of spumoni ice cream.
I have a potluck after Bible Study on Wednesday so we stopped into the Metropolitan Market to see if I could find something for that. They have lots of great stuff but it is on the pricey side. We went to Fred Meyer where I found some Asian spring rolls that looked pretty good. I bought a Debbie Macomber book called “Married in Seattle.” It was supposed to be on sale for $4.99 and they charged me $5.99. Of course I didn’t discover that until I got home. Patti, the gal who is supposed to come help me with some cleaning tomorrow, called and said she has a sick boy and may not be able to come. Sigh…..
And that takes care of another day.
