I forgot to mention one news tidbit from yesterday. There was a gal sitting next to me at Myra’s and another gal was talking with her. Pretty soon it caught my attention as Patty made reference to a couple of recent murders up north of us - A traffic stop in the woods led to the shooting death of a U.S. Forest Service officer, a shootout in which a fugitive was killed and the discovery of a third gunshot victim at the home of the owner of a pickup truck he was driving, the Washington State Patrol said. Patty said the perp was her son-in-law and her daughter’s abuser. You can read the story HERE. The police told her later that according to his journal he was coming after her. Wow!
I got up a little after seven this morning and finished the first baby sock and got the second one started. Then I packed up my embroidery machine and got it loaded into the car. That is one heavy machine! We left here about 10:30, got the mail and then headed into Tacoma. Bill made one stop before dropping me and the machine at Quality Sewing. I got in there only to discover that Georgette, my sales person, was not there after all. Another lady checked in my machine and she showed me the new features of my machine although there were some questions I had that she couldn’t answer. Hello? When I was done I perused the store and found a few things to buy. The canned air was BOGO free which was nice since my old can just ran out. I called Bill to see how long I had before he would be back to pick me up and he said half an hour. I walked over to Michaels where I got some boy type shank buttons and one skein of yarn in a color I don’t’ have. I know – it’s hard to believe there is such a thing! I was in the checkout line and looked up to find Bill.
He asked where I wanted to eat and I said Popeye’s so that’s where we went. I had a hankering for fried chicken with red beans and rice. Bill added an order of popcorn shrimp to his chicken since he wanted fried shrimp last night and didn’t get any. Ann wrote me this morning and pondered the question of why she gets hungry every time she reads my blog. She suggested a low calorie version. HA And I was happy to hear that she knit a pair of the pocket purse slippers. Now she wants the pattern for the baby booties I used to knit for her shop many moons ago. I’ll have to see where I have that hid on my computer. She quite agreed I shouldn’t bother with resolutions but suggested I try and stay out of trouble in 2009. Trouble? MOI?
Wanda and I chatted tonight for a bit. Peg in Colorado endured 12 hours of super high Chinook winds Wednesday night. That could have something to do with the flight from Denver that Nadine’s daughter was on that was so rough. She got off the plane looking white as a sheet after having the plane drop. Not my idea of fun!
I’m off to finish this second sock. Now we’ll see if they are both the same size. That is my problem with socks – knitting two things separately that are supposed to be just alike!
