I was sound asleep when the alarm went off at 6:30 this morning. I have it set so that the radio comes on. I reached over to turn it off and sent it to the loud alarm sound instead. I finally got it turned off. Then I reset it to go off tomorrow morning. Larry probably wouldn’t appreciate my sleeping through rehearsal.
I was responding to a customer email this morning so I asked Bill if he would heat me up a half biscuit and gravy he brought from Lisa’s deli yesterday. When he set the plate in front of me, I wondered when they started putting potatoes in the gravy. Then I realized that he put clam chowder on my biscuit instead of sausage gravy. What a hoot! He offered to scrape it off and redo but I suffered through and ate it as it was. Bleck!
I got to church at 8:20. I was able to run over some of the songs that I didn’t know. People were free to come when they were able and we had a goodly number at the highest point. I was there for the duration since I played at the beginning and again at the end of the event. We had a corporate time of prayer followed by a personal time. Then came the potluck lunch. Lots of goodies there. Just before lunch Nancy told me to come meet her daughter. I had noticed a lovely young lady sitting at one of the tables and wondered who she was. Nancy introduced me as the one who would be there with her at the end. It broke my heart. I got a chance to talk with Annette when Nancy went off to do something else. We exchange “information” so that we can be in touch. Nancy is all set to go for an “in house” visit this upcoming week with her son who is in prison. Apparently the state moved him from a prison in Eastern Washington to one south of us. I had no idea one could do an “in house” visit but I’m happy she can do this.
When we were leaving church, Shirley discovered she had a flat tire. I have never in my life seen such a flat tire. It was flatter than a fritter! I told her about Mark having a flat tire Thursday night. She called her son and he was going to come. Jeanette was going to stay with her until he appeared so I left.
I’ve been putzing on the computer since I got home. Much to my dismay I discovered that I was looking at the adult hood directions on the Kyler cardigan so I had to frog back to the beginning of the hood section. This sweater is driving me nuts! And speaking of sweaters, I was responding to a customer email this morning when I remembered that Barbara and I have to do the homework for that fitting class at Madrona – the one where we have to take a photo and do an outline of our body shape!!! We are going to give that a shot next weekend, I think. Horrors!
I called Beth tonight. Jason answered and they were trying to get him ready to go to a winter formal. I also called Nancy’s daughter Annette to let her know that I sent her an email so we can make sure we are hooked up correctly in that department. I took the things for Pregnancy Resource Services today but Kim came and went in a hurry as she has a real bad cold. Hopefully I’ll see her husband tomorrow and give the bag of stuff to him.
And thus ends another day in my life.
The more time you spend in God’s presence, making His thoughts and will your own, the stronger your faith will grow that God will use your prayers in the carrying out of His plan of redemption. - Andrew Murray 1828 – 1917
